The Project
The duo of designers Amalia Magril and Daniel Garber is engaged in a critical reflection centered around the production systems and supply chains that shape our daily lives and environment. Their residency is based on a resource identified during the “Almanach” inventory: rope. Once essential for transportation and the exchange of goods, closely linked to local industries and culture, this element has experienced a gradual decline with the advent of new technologies and trade routes.
Starting with rope – the epitome object of connection – Daniel and Amalia endeavor to weave new relationships between traditional cordage craftsmanship, Limoges porcelain, and oysters. This project aims to foster alternative ways of producing local goods, thereby outlining a collaborative production system that revalues ropes.
The aim of this research is to stimulate new local collaborations for more sustainable management of shared resources in the region.
